The partners

16 working groups of Kiel University from the fields of technology, computer science, law, innovation research, acceptance research and philosophy as well as working groups of the University of Applied Sciences Kiel and of the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design work with companies from Schleswig-Holstein, the shipyard and supplier industry, together on the technological implementation of the topic.

The state capital Kiel and its companies are important partners in CAPTin Kiel and have agreed to provide needed infrastructure. For the city of Kiel, the project approach means implementing innovative urban transport infrastructure, strengthening tourism and making a contribution to the nationwide appeal of Kiel as the state capital of Schleswig-Holstein.

With the Federal Ministry of Transport, the establishment of a digital test field for autonomous shipping on the Kiel Fjord is being prepared.

In the Baltic Sea region, where Norwegian consortiums in the autonomous shipping industry are world leaders, further contacts are being developed to establish joint R&D projects.
